These books are not directly related to Valentine’s Day or February… but they ARE all related to love, self love, acceptance of difference, and how we are all different but very much alike. Self love and acceptance are the perfect themes for the month of February. Here are my favorite picture books that are perfect for just that.

First of all, the illustrations in this book are absolutely gorgeous. This was a book I saw on the shelf and COULD NOT LEAVE BEHIND! I love the relationship between the Dad and daughter, and most of all love how this book showcases how to love yourself, just the way you are.

This book displays the many different makeups of a family… and that the most important thing that makes a family is LOVE. There are so many great extension activities that can go along with this book!

We ALWAYS talk about being kind and accepting to others, and we rarely talk about being kind to ourselves. This is the PERFECT book for discussing self love, kindness to yourself, and self- compassion!
