All About Simple Self-Contained Set Up 101

No matter how long you have been teaching, classroom set up can be a daunting task. Whether you are a teacher who is brand new to the self-contained classroom or you have been doing this for years, the Simple Self-Contained Setup 101 course is for you!

What is Simple Self-Contained Set Up 101?

This is the roadmap to Simple Self-Contained Setup 101.

Simple Self-Contained Set Up 101 is a course that will walk you through all aspects of teaching in a self-contained classroom. Taught by a veteran self-contained teacher, the course will prepare you to work with students the moment they enter your classroom! You will go through five important aspects of teaching self-contained special education. Utilizing the course workbook, you will be able to plan and prepare for how you want your classroom to look, feel, and operate. This course will give you all the tools you need to be a successful and confident teacher!

Who is This Course For?

The Classroom Layout Builder is one of my favorite pieces of the course!

This course is for ANYONE who teaches in the self-contained setting! When I first took the course, I was brand new to the self-contained world. However, even teachers who have been at it for a while will benefit from the course’s teachings.

Our teacher preparation programs don’t necessarily prepare us for the world of self-contained special ed. These classrooms are unique environments that require a different kind of planning. Luckily, the Simple Self-Contained Set Up 101 course allows you to learn all about it from someone who has been there!

Now that I have been in the self-contained world for many years, I am still benefitting from Simple Self-Contained Set Up 101. It comes with lifetime access so you can go back and replay any videos or access resources I want. For example, last year I had a little trouble making my daily schedule work. I went back to the course and rewatched part of the schedule module. That gave me the help I needed to make my plans!

How Does the Course Work?

Each module has notes and handouts to help you along!

The course is made up of five self-paced modules. Each one has video lessons, workbook pages, and resources that walk you through different aspects of teaching in a self-contained classroom. The modules are:

  • The Schedule
  • The Team
  • The Classroom
  • The Curriculum
  • The Changes

There is also a BONUS module that walks you through different aspects of prepping materials! Personally, the classroom prep module has been a lifesaver for me. As special ed teachers, we usually find ourselves making TONS of materials throughout the year. The classroom prep videos taught me how to make materials for my room in a smart, efficient, and (best of all) sturdy way!

Why Should I Invest in Simple Self-Contained Set Up 101?

Using the course notebook helps you keep track of all you are learning!

Participating in the course is a smart investment in yourself, your classroom, and your career! Taking the Simple Self-Contained Set Up 101 Course truly prepared me to teach self-contained. After finishing the course, I had the confidence to know that I was doing the absolute best for my class! When I stepped into my self-contained classroom, I was ready with a plan for making my schedule, setting up the room, working with paras, and tackling the curriculum. I felt prepared and ready to go! And, even my administrators took notice of the amazing progress I made in my classroom!

The course is beneficial for any self-contained teacher!

In addition to the lessons, the course also gives you access to a TON of extras! For example, you will become part of an exclusive Facebook group for course members. Sometimes teaching special ed can feel lonely within your school building. So, it is invaluable to be able to connect with and learn from your self-contained peers. Additionally, there are a myriad of resources included in the course that you can download and use in your classroom!
