COVID-19 Adapted Books for Special Education

COVID-19 has disrupted education as we know it and caused many changes. Changes in the special education world can be very difficult for our students as they thrive on routine, consistency, and preparation.

As we prepare to head back to school the number one goal for this year will be making students feel safe and comfortable at school again. This is going to take some time with many new expectations in place. Preparation will be key. Adapted books with social narratives will be extremely helpful both at home and school.

TEACHERS- You are able to hide pages on Boom or delete pages on the interactive books to make them apply to your specific situation. Send families the interactive books or assign the Boom Cards version before you head back to school to help them prep their child for the new changes in place.

FAMILIES- Prep your child for the new school guidelines and changes as well as informing them about COVID-19 with these adapted books.
