We are so excited to bring you a blog hop packed with activities for the holiday season! It is so important to teach our students about rich cultures- not just here- but everywhere! Hop through the posts to download the freebies!
CANADA! Many people believe that Canadians celebrate Christmas just like we do in the United States. But while there are many similarities there are many differences too! Canadians celebrate with different treats (chicken bones!) and traditions (mummers!, sending a fir tree to Boston)!
There are many stories that tell about the Christmas traditions that Canadians have. Click the book to grab the link and check them out for your students!
In my school, we think it is important to teach the children about all of the holidays and provide rich activities from all cultures. In my classroom we do all sort of activities to teach these cultures. I like to use readers and use them for comprehension checks! (The freebie you can grab below comes with a comprehension sheet!)
You can grab the freebie reader and comprehension sheet HERE to use with your students!
Be sure to hop around the world below for more awesome freebies, book recommendations, and activities for the holiday season!

Next year I’ll be doing some traveling and I’ll be honest, Canada isn’t the first place I think of but you’ve made me realize there is a beautiful country to explore right next door!
Thank you for joining us!

I love little e-z readers in my classroom too! I always let my kids color the pictures after we read the book… I think that’s their favorite part 🙂

Do you by chance have the passport page that goes along with your country? I love your resources and would love to have my kids summarize what they have learned. Thank you so very much for sharing.
