WH questions are my favorite IEP goal of all time. My students seem to make such good progress with WH questions so I love watching them grow with this goal! Another reason it’s my favorite is because it is so easily generalized…. you SEE the progress in all areas. WH questions are a huge life skill! Read on to find out my 3 favorite resources to target WH questions!
WH flip cards has been the NUMBER 1 BESTSELLING resource in my TPT store for 5 years! And for very good reason…. the differentiation included leaves room for all students to make progress, the visuals are super clear, and SO MANY people state that students make progress with these!
Here’s what teachers are saying about WH Question Flip Cards:
Mandy T. said: “One of the best things I have purchased from TpTs. Much more comprehension than I thought when I bought it. So many pages of wh questions. Can’t wait to laminate and use!”
Kristina T. said: “I love this product! I use it ALL THE TIME either for therapy, progress monitoring, informal assessment, etc.. Thank you! “
Lindsey M. said: “Very well made product that was perfect for my students who needed more visual supports for WH questions. I love that there are different levels of support.”
Real Picture WH flip books are another all time favorite resource of mine…. my favorite thing about these are how EASY they are to prep…. NO CUTTING! Just print laminate and bind or add a binder ring! You could prep these in 20 minutes! (which is a huge win!)
You can make a book of mixed questions or separate them into the different Wh question words, making this book easy to differentiate on the spot. If you laminate, you can use a dry erase marker to make this an independent task, you could use as print and go worksheets, or you could have the student point to answers if working 1:1 with you.

Simple Dry erase is a great resource for early finishers, those who need a large amount of work for independent work (or they fly through!) or students that need to practice the same skill in a variety of ways!
Here’s what teachers are saying about Simple Dry Erase WH questions:
Rainbow of Possibilities said: “Our current reading curriculum does not target wh questions at all. This has been a lifesaver for helping my students make progress on their wh question IEP goal. We had a sub para the other day and she loved using it, too. Thank you for your high quality resources!”
Margaret C. said: “I’m using this with my ASD pupils. I’ve used it 1:1 and as an independent task. I cut out the questions separately and got the students to put a peg on the right answer. I worked on each question separately and then gave them mixed questions so this product is very adapatable.”
Meghan S. said: “I love this resource and cannot wait to use it! Plan on putting the sheets in sheet protectors and storing in a binder for students to use. “
