Visual recipes are a HUGE part of student learning in a self contained classroom. If you have followed me for long, you know I have a passion for creating adapted visual recipes for teachers to use with their students in the classroom. These recipes target so many goals from life skills to math to measuring and reading comprehension. You can read more about getting started with Cooking in the Classroom here!
I created this visual recipe for crockpot applesauce because I know making applesauce is a staple in many classrooms each year. Many students go on apple picking field trips and bring back the apples to make applesauce with. This is such a fun activity and I wanted to adapt my favorite recipe and make it more visual!
Students are able to read the recipe, check for ingredients (and even go shopping for them!) and then complete the recipe! All of the worksheets you need to go along with this activity are included in this free download.
I even added the same comprehension worksheets you see in my traditional visual recipe packs in for the free download too! If you haven’t tried cooking with your students before, this is a great chance to try it out for free!
