5 Things You Need from Dollar Tree

Dollar Tree has TONS of great materials for special ed classrooms. Get the things you need on a budget! Here are 5 things you need from Dollar Tree!

dollar tree baskets
Baskets are great for holding visuals and schedule pieces!

Baskets

The first thing you need to grab are baskets! These baskets are perfect for holding visuals for quick grab and go. I’ve also used these as “finished” baskets for visual schedule pieces. Now I use them to hold our Morning Meeting pieces.

dry erase pocket sleeves
These dry erase pocket sleeves are useful for tons of things in special ed classrooms!

Dry Erase Pocket Sleeves

Next up, you need these dry erase pocket sleeves! These are useful for tons of things in special ed classrooms. I use them for our Week at a Glance board to hold what we are working on each week. I also use these to reuse worksheets in the classroom.

dollar tree timers
Timers are a special ed classroom’s best friend!

Timers

This may be my favorite Dollar Tree find: timers! These timers are perfect in a special ed classroom. I normally buy a bunch at the beginning of the year, and they will last throughout the school year. We use these in the classroom, at recess, at specials, really anywhere around school!

dollar tree border
Dollar Tree border is perfect to make your bulletin boards on a budget!

Border

Dollar Tree border is the only border I will buy! They always have cute colors and patterns, and for $1.25 per pack you just can’t beat it! Grab a new pack whenever you want to switch out your bulletin boards. Check out this blog post for the easiest bulletin board hack for special ed teachers.

dollar tree task box bins
Use Dollar Tree shoe box size bins for task boxes.

Task Box Bins

Grab some shoe box size bins to create your task box library! You can get the task box labels here to create your own task box system. I also use these bins to hold student extra clothes, bathroom supplies, IEP bins, and more!

Dollar Tree is the perfect place for special ed teachers to get everything they need for their classrooms on a budget! What is your favorite thing from Dollar Tree? Share in the comments!
