How To: Make an End Of The Year Scrapbook

Today I want to talk about how to make a scrapbook for the end of the year. This year has been really strange. We’re in a pandemic and I think it’s more important than ever that we treasure the fun moments we have. So, let’s get started on how to make an end of the year scrapbook.

Start with a base

I made my students a base for their scrapbook. It’s cute and it has space for them to use stamps and stickers to decorate to their heart’s content. Here is what I made:

A picture of a scrapbook page with decorations.
Here is the template I made for my students.

I used google slides to design a simple scrapbook base and Symbolstix images. I used our school colors and paw prints because our mascot is a lion. However, you can totally just use colored construction paper. It doesn’t have to be fancy. If you want to use the one I made for my students you can make a copy here.

Choose the Pictures

I take pictures of all the cool things my students do with this moment in mind. I pick out the best ones and use my color printer to print them out on paper. Then I let my students choose between 2 photos and then we paste it on the template. Simple! If my student cannot hold a glue stick I use these eazyhold grips. They are amazing. We then decorate with stickers, stamps, and paint dots. It’s important that we let the students decorate with whatever they like. If they want Thomas The Train stickers than that’s okay. It’s not our job to tell our students what they can and can’t like. Here is a great post by Taylor that goes into this issue in depth.

Here is an example of what it might look like. I added some sun stickers and a bitmoji.

Bind it up!

When we are all done I bind all of the books with my book binder. I use this one and I purchased it on amazon.  (affiliate link)

This is a great way to wrap the end of the year. You can incorporate choices, writing, and fine motor all in one awesome scrapbook. I have had students that love to get their books out just to look at them. They love seeing all of their friends and teachers.

If you need any help with your scrapbook let me know! I’d be glad to help you out!
