Workbasket Wednesday!

This post will give you a peek inside some my classroom workboxes- basically the life line for my academic skill periods! Work baskets help build independence, fine motor, schedule skills, and wait skills, all while working on IEP goals!

Utensil Sorting
Utensil sorting is a great activity for kids working on sorting by function or class and working on life skills. All you need is a bunch of varying forks/spoons/knives and some bins to throw this together! This activity builds life skills and parents are super happy when kids can help put away the dishwasher!

Clothespin Letter Match
This is a favorite for many of my students. I had some old yellow index cards and threw this one together! Write all the letters on the clothespins and your good to go! This one shows uppercase/lowercase matching but you could also do same case matching if that is your goal. You can present this task in a variety of ways from 2 all the way to 26 in the field!

1:1 Correspondence Clip Cards
These 1:1 correspondence cards are a favorite for my students. I change them out with new images to count monthly, keeping this activity fresh! They clip right over the answer and are working on fine motor and don’t even know it! You can find the clip cards in my TPT store: here.

Here is another uppercase/ lowercase letter matching work box activity! Students must match flowers to their correct pot. You can present this activity with a variety of field 2-26, depending on the needs of the student. You can find these in my Rainy Day File Folder Pack!
Check back next month for another peek into my workboxes! I am off to get printing and creating with this big ole stack of FRESH card stock… a sped teachers dream!

That’s all for now!
