Communication on the Go

Communication is everything! BUT our students need to communicate everywhere! Not just at their desks. In the classroom, in the hall, in the lunchroom, at home… everywhere they go! Sometimes our students need to have SO many visuals with them, that it seems impossible!

That’s where communication on the go comes in! A compact, easy to read, easy to find, and easy to carry mini communication book is impossible to find! I wanted to create something that students would be able to use to communicate basic needs in a variety of situations at home, at school, and beyond!

You can print the book flat, so students can point to each icon to communicate… OR you can print the book with removable velcro pieces for students who use picture exchange systems.

The topics included in this basic set will allow students to communicate in a variety of scenarios but most importantly make choices using multiple choice… an opportunity we don’t usually have without having MANY visuals on hand.

Students can communicate wants and needs and even places and people with the communication on the go flip book!

The MOST important pages in the book are probably wants and needs. Why? When students can’t communicate basic wants and needs… they become frustrated and behaviors begin. Behaviors can be huge barriers to academic and social development during the school day. If we can decrease these barriers by INCREASING communication… then we are making huge progress!

You can download the basic set of Communication on the Go here!
