Getting to Know Your Students

The beginning of the school year (and mostly the first 10 days of school) are so hard. You have so many new things to learn. New students, new materials, new schedules, new staff… it can be overwhelming! One of my number one suggestions to both new and veteran teachers is to take time before jumping into new curriculum… your students need to adjust to all the new too!

One of my favorite parts of my first ten days resource is the Visual All About Me Book! Students can use visuals to answer the pages… which makes the page easy to differentiate! They can draw pictures or paste in pictures of themselves or from magazines!

When would I complete this resource

Since I stress focusing SOLELY on relationships and routines for 2 full weeks… I would follow your daily routine and work on the All About Me Book during centers! You don’t have to complete the whole book in one day. Take the time to learn about each of your students through using the book and have students share about themselves to their classmates when they are done!
