Community Helper Vehicles Free Task Box

Increase student independence and learning in your special education classroom with community helper vehicle task boxes!

Community helpers is one of my favorite topics! This free community vehicles task box is perfect for your community helpers unit, and to build your independent work library!

If you have been following me long, you know that it is my passion for students to have access to an independent work library. You can read all about setting one up here.

Independent work libraries are a HUGE part of helping your students become independent learners and creating a classroom environment that runs smoothly.

This is a photo of labeled task boxes on two shelves.

If you don’t have an independent work station… you need to start one right now! Here’s where to start. Building my independent work library was life changing for me! I was understaffed and had a classroom full of students who needed 1:1. Teaching my students how to work independently not only freed up some staff…. but taught them life long skills (independence, schedule following, clean up, attention) that they will carry with them throughout life.

This matching task is simple! There are two levels included. The first level is matching the picture to the picture. The second level is matching the picture to the word!

Multiple levels makes it easy to use with multiple students by adding it to your independent work library. You can keep the two sets of responses in separate bags OR you can print two sets of cards and store them in separate boxes labeled level one and level 2.
