I finally sprung for the SSE Comprehension Bundle! It’s been a long time coming, but I am so grateful that I finally made the leap. This resource has been such an incredible time saver! Read all about how I use the SSE Comprehension Bundle here!
Why the SSE Comprehension Bundle?
The reasons I love this resource so much are (1) there is an array of printed and digital options, (2) the resource is differentiated by difficulty, and (3) the resource is of very high-quality. Being a special education teacher serving students with a wide range of skill levels, it is beyond helpful to have ready-made resources that are made with my students in mind. I have been using this resource frequently since I purchased it. I particularly like that I have regained time with my family, which otherwise would be spent on lesson planning!
How I Use the Digital Version
I love that the SSE Comprehension Bundle has a digital option. This has been extremely helpful during distance learning. I assign these digital passages as asynchronous work for my students on Google Classroom™. There are detailed instructions on how to do that included in the resource.
I have also been teaching a question word unit. These reading comprehension exercises have been perfect to accomplish the initial teaching of the concepts.
How I Use the Printed Version
During distance learning, I provide printed version of weekly asynchronous work to some of my students. This is because some my students access hands-on materials a lot better than digital versions, owing to their respective learning profiles.
If you are in in-person learning, I see this resource being equally as handy!
These reading comprehension exercises are at the independent work level of older students. You can assign them to independent work centers. Alternatively, these are quality instructional activities created for your younger students.
The versatility of the SSE Comprehension Bundle makes it a must-have resource for special education teachers. If you already own this resource, how do you use it with your students?
