5 Reasons to Love Boom Cards™

Since the Covid-19 school closures there has been a TON of new digital resources and activities available for teachers! Boom Learning™ is one that I have found to be PERFECT for special education teachers AND students. Here are the reasons why I LOVE Boom Cards™ and you should too.

They are self-checking.

After the student responds they receive immediate feedback if the answer was correct or incorrect. If incorrect, the wrong answer gets crossed out and they cannot move on until they get it right.

The teacher receives student data.

After the student completes a deck, the student report is available for the teacher to view. The student reports tells the teacher how fast the student answers, how many they got wrong, and what their level of mastery for the deck is. This student data is perfect for special education because it gives teachers the opportunity to make instructional decisions.

They have a read aloud option.

Boom Cards™ have the ability to have sound. This is controlled by the deck creator, so not ALL boom cards can read aloud, but if the creator designs them that way they can. ALL of my Boom Cards™ have an immediate audio prompt, and my advanced cards read aloud the word choices.

They are simple to assign.

It is SO easy to use the app and website. Boom Cards™ you purchase get loaded into your library. You set up each student with a username and password (they even have picture passwords for students! Learn more in this video!) and can assign decks by students- perfect for differentiation! Learn more about setting up your Boom classroom here. Learn more about differentiation here.

Students love them!

I have gotten SO MUCH positive feedback from teachers and parents about Boom Cards. They are raving about how much their children and students are loving the decks and the app in general. It is fun, engaging, and best of all simple. I had my almost 4 year old niece try them out and she loved them too!
