If you have been following me long, you know that it is my passion for students to have access to an independent work library. You can read all about setting one up here.

Independent work libraries are a HUGE part of helping your students become independent learners and creating a classroom environment that runs smoothly. It’s a win win for everyone because students are becoming more independent and teachers are freed up!

These coin sorting mats can be used in a variety of ways! You can sort all 4 mats for a challenging activity, sort just two coins at a time, or use this as an errorless task by using only one mat.

How to use: Prep all four mats by laminating and adding velcro. You can make them into sorting mats or attach to a file folder.

Differentiation tip: Make this task errorless by giving only one mat at a time. Want to do sorting 2 mats but don’t want to verbally prompt? Start each mat off with one card on each to give a visual cue.
