Visual Recipes for the Holidays

The holidays mean all sorts of yummy treats around home and school ( if you are lucky!) If you have been following me for long, you know that I LOVE cooking in the classroom and all the skills it touches on. What other lesson can hit life skills, fine motor, communication, reading, math, and science all in one? Cooking is FUN and a huge skill for our students to learn!

I have many visual recipe sets in my Teachers Pay Teachers store from Cooking Through the Year to Drinks, and Nursery Rhyme recipes to the NEW Holiday Recipes!

Pin the picture above if you want to save this to read later!

All of the recipes included in the new holiday set are NO BAKE! The Elf Pancake recipe requires an electric griddle (plugs into the wall!) or a stove if you have access to make the pancakes!

The rest just use a microwave to heat butter or warm chocolate for dipping! Super simple means you will be more successful and students can be more independent!

Something special I always loved to do for cooking during the holidays was to share with staff at our school. We would make it a project to bag these treats and then deliver them to the special people on our list. People like the custodian who always makes us smile, the secretary who let’s us know about fire drills, or our inclusion teachers who never forget to include us. I love showing these special people how much they mean to us and love how excited students are to deliver treats. Not to mention this is such a fun communication exercise!

I love that these are recipes that you can send home to families too! I loved to send home the whole packet to families and write a note encouraging them to follow the recipe at home as well! These recipes are all treats that are no bake and families could easily make for holiday parties or just a fun treat together!

If you want to make these treats with your class this holiday season, just click this link to download!  Happy cooking!
